yeah i've thought a lot about how the pressure affects the bite on my lakes down here. i think it's probably more of a benefit for me since most of the pressure is during the day and i'm mostly out at night. haven't had any nights lately where they're just stupid, mostly been grinding it out for one fish.
blanked again last night doing the same things that have been working lately. time to ramp it up tonight, gonna speed things up and get a little more aggressive, see if i can shake a few out of the weeds. there have been less rigs at the ramp in the last couple weeks so it's been nice having more room to fish. the milfoil treatments continue down here on some of my good spots though and that seems to screw up the fishing.

skunked again last night, i'm on a pretty bad streak right now. i definitely know where they're not eating so tonight i'll venture out from the weeds i've been fishing and see what's going on.

it's been a grind this week which sucks because my wife is out of town and i've got plenty of time to fish. got a 42" in the net finally last night trolling a jake in the same place where we got the fish on opener. probably the smallest 42" i've ever seen but a slumpbreaker nonetheless and i never complain about catching a musky. more trolling on the menu tonight.

last night was my last time out for a few days. it took 3 hours of trolling but my friend did boat a 42". that seems to be the size lately. it was the same buddy who caught the fish that i let jump out of the net a month ago so it was nice to see him get another one. bigger fish have moved out somewhere, wish i knew where, a good 1/3 of the lake was also treated for milfoil and in my experience that doesn't do wonders for the fishing.
good luck this weekend, everybody

no musky hucking for me last weekend, heard eric got his first one in the net this year with nate. my buddies who were out under the full moon report very slow fishing down in the metro. i'm going to take some time off muskies a bit this weekend go fishing for flatheads on the minnesota river, should be a fun time. as far as muskies go i'm also trying to stay off of the things that haven't been working that i'm comfortable with and do things i don't usually do, like trolling cranks as i've talked about in previous posts. i'm starting to build up some confidence with this technique and have been enjoying seeing my spots from different perspective and catching a few fish so i'm going to stick with it when i'm out tomorrow since i've got nothing to lose.

i got chased off the water tuesday by storms after only a few casts and won't be fishing again until saturday morning, good news is things are picking up down here in the metro and i'm excited to get back on the water. i went out with a buddy from work on my first flathead trip last night though and had a blast. 3 people in the boat and we each got a fish. probably will do that again sometime! good luck this weekend!

Just got back from a week at Minaki. Tough would be the operative word. Got a 45,42, and a couple of low 30s for the week. Only lost a couple and missed 2 or 3 opportunities. Which is actually down quite a bit from the last 2 years the same week. Weather wasn't bad and the fishing was actually very good for parts of the day until the front blew through Tuesday around noon. After that things were tough. Both of the nice landed fish were on homemade double 10s. One small fish was on a tailspinner topwater and one on a big daddy. Most fish spotted were 42ish or better with a good numbere of mid 40s. Handful of 4fters spotted and 1 50in class mustard colored tanker.
Most musky boats I have ever seen up there in my 6 or 7 trips. Got cut off on one rocky point which was a bummer and un called for in canada but such is life. Definately a tough trip with a few 12hour stretches without even a follow.
